Behavior Support for Students with Disabilities in Inclusive Classrooms

Behavior Support for Students with Disabilities in Inclusive Classrooms is a 4-module, 16-lesson asynchronous professional development course designed for general educators, special educators, school psychologists, and administrators in inclusive settings. Built on the principle that behavior is communication, the curriculum gives educators a research-grounded, relationship-centered framework for understanding and responding to challenging behavior. The four modules follow the rhythm of the school year: 1. Behavior as Communication — functions of behavior, classroom design, reinforcement, functional assessment 2. Peer Relationships, EF, Dysregulation & Motivation — social dynamics, executive functioning, emotional regulation 3. Academic Avoidance, Social Strains & Oppositional Behavior — escape-maintained behavior, ODD, EF-based interventions 4. The Home Stretch — end-of-year transitions, event preparation, sustaining engagement
